The Lost Generation

After the 2022 mid-term elections showed ages 18-29 voting above 60% Democrat, CJ Pearson with the New York Post, wrote:

“What happened with Gen-Z in [the] midterms wasn’t a glitch; it was a feature—a product of decades of indoctrination at the hands of higher education, the mainstream media, and popular culture taken hostage by wokeism.”

You don’t need a survey or scientific study to discern how the moral attitudes of children reflect the values inherited from previous generations. It’s sufficient to say everyone above the age of 30 missed something. Parents, pastors, teachers, coaches, neighbors, friends—we took our eye off the youth of America. We did a good job of making memories and passing along family traditions, but we failed to impart respect for authority, hard work, and self-control.

As a nation, we’ve forgotten God and sacrificed our future on the altar of busyness and self-gratification. However, all is not lost if we learn the lesson and reassess our priorities.

WHAT WE’RE UP AGAINST

Traditional American values are not represented on any progressive platform. Patriotism, taking responsibility for one’s actions, and using proper grammar are now considered offensive and could potentially result in a lawsuit against the offending party. Our education systems are now designed to inspire rebellion, hypersexuality, confusion, and co-dependence. Below are the talking points that drive public policies and school curricula:

  • Abortion on demand in all 50 states; pregnancies should be terminable at any stage and without parental consent for minors

  • Homosexuality and all manner of sexual promiscuity should be practiced at the earliest age possible (hence we have the mainstreaming of drag queen story hour for toddlers)

  • Free college education funded by working-class taxpayers

  • Critical race theory and gender ideology should be taught on every grade level

  • Encourage transgenderism at any age without parental consent

Regardless of where you land morally or politically on these issues, we can agree that none of these things are appropriate for K-12 education. These topics aren’t even beneficial on a collegiate level. They only serve one purpose: tearing down an identity and building a new one.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Understand that the dismantling and demise of American society is a multi-generational, multi-institutional effort. Our public education system coupled with toxic pop-culture is a hotbed of division and mental health crises that can only be mitigated by active parents/guardians. The “blue wave” we saw in 2022 will become a tsunami if we don’t win back Gen-Z and safeguard the next generations heading in this direction.

Every adult—whether you have children or not—should be involved in the lives of young people. They are in a spiritual battle they cannot win on their own. Be willing to do small things and big things that cost time, energy, and, yes, money. Don’t shy away from discussing politics and religion. Use wisdom when taking risks and don’t fear backlash for upholding biblical standards of truth and morality. Be a voice of reason and reality to all who are willing to listen. We may not rescue everybody, but if we change even one mind, one life, then we’ve done our part.
